We know it can be disappointing to receive an event cancellation email - especially if you never saw your meeting point or restaurant.
This article explains why an event may be cancelled, why your venue details weren't available, and what happens next.
Why Was My Event Cancelled?
Your event may be cancelled for one of these reasons:
- Not enough participants joined. We need a minimum number of people to create a great dinner experience. If that minimum isn't reached, the event is cancelled.
- We couldn't form a suitable group. Our matching system aims to create balanced, meaningful groups. Sometimes, even with enough registrations, we can't create a group that meets our matching criteria.
If either of these situations happens, we'll automatically send you an email to let you know.
Why Didn't I Receive the Meeting Point or Restaurant?
The meeting point and restaurant are only revealed after your event has been confirmed.
If your event was cancelled before confirmation, those details remain locked because no dinner reservation or group was finalized.
This helps ensure that venue information is only shared for confirmed events.
What Happens Next?
If your event is cancelled, you don't need to take any action immediately.
Depending on how you booked your event, we'll automatically:
- Rebook you for another eligible event, or
- Return your credit, or
- Ensure you're compensated fairly based on your subscription plan.
The outcome depends on your booking and payment method. Your cancellation email will confirm what applies to your reservation.
