Learn how dietary accommodations work on Timeleft, which restrictions are supported, and the limitations around allergies and special requests.
At Timeleft, we aim to create enjoyable and inclusive dining experiences for everyone. While we can’t accommodate all dietary preferences or food allergies, we do offer a set of dietary restrictions that you can select when booking an event to help ensure a better experience.
Below is how dietary accommodations currently work on Timeleft. This only applies to events focused on sharing a meal so are not supported for Coffees, Drinks, etc.
Dietary Restrictions We Support
When booking an event, you’ll have the option to indicate whether you have dietary needs.
During the booking flow, when selecting your budget, you can mark that you have dietary restrictions and choose any that apply:
- Vegetarian
- Vegan
- Gluten-free (ingredients not the kitchen standards)
- Halal
When one or more of these options is selected, we ensure the assigned restaurant has at least one main course that fits the selected restriction.
These dietary selections can be select each time you book a dinner, giving you flexibility if your needs change.
The default is to match one of your preferences. So, if you need vegetarian and gluten-free, once your restaurant is assigned, you will need to contact us to see if it is possible.
Food Allergies
At this time, we do not accommodate food allergies or concerns about cross-contamination.
We do not assign restaurants based on specific allergies, as we cannot reliably guarantee allergen safety across all venues. To avoid any potential risk, we are transparent about this limitation. Your safety is important to us, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue to evaluate future solutions.
What we can do:
If your allergy is easy to validate with the menu in your city, you can contact us to see if we can find another option for you after your restaurant is assigned.
For example, if you have a seafood allergy and assigned to a sushi restaurant, if available, we could assign you to an Italian restaurant. But again, this is no guarantee of cross-contamination. For more information about this, we suggest that you call the restaurant directly.
What We Can’t Accommodate
While we support the dietary restrictions listed above, please note that we do not guarantee accommodations for:
- Food allergies
- Cross-contamination concerns
- Specific ingredient requests
- Cuisine type preferences
Restaurant selection is based on availability and suitability for social dining, rather than customized menus.
If Your Assigned Restaurant Doesn’t Work for You
If you’re assigned to a restaurant that doesn’t feel compatible with your selected dietary restrictions, please reach out to us. If an alternative option is available, we’ll do our best to help or explore rescheduling. We do try to find other options on your behalf.
