This article explains why your Timeleft account may show a privaterelay.appleid.com email address when signing in with Apple and how Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature works.
If you signed up for Timeleft using an Apple device and noticed an email like random123@privaterelay.appleid.com associated with your account, don’t worry — that’s totally normal!
What is a 'privaterelay.applied' email?
This is part of Apple’s “Sign in with Apple” feature, which gives you the option to hide your real email address when creating an account in an app. If you choose this option, Apple generates a unique, private relay email address that looks something like random123@privaterelay.appleid.com.
That relay address then forwards emails to your actual inbox — so we can still stay in touch, without ever seeing your real email unless you choose to share it.
Why does Apple do this?
Apple created this feature to give you more control over your personal data. By using a private relay address:
Your real email stays hidden from the app
You still get important updates from us, like subscription info and reminders
You can turn off or delete the relay email anytime from your Apple ID settings
How to manage your Apple relay emails
You can view and manage the relay email Apple created for you by going to:
Settings on your iPhone or iPad
Tap your name at the top
Go to iCloud > Hide My Email
Look for Timeleft in the list to see the email Apple generated for us
