Timeleft uses your profile and matching preferences to create a table of people who are likely to enjoy meeting one another. The goal is a compatible, varied group - not six people with identical profiles. Our algorithm uses your answers to support meaningful conversations while keeping space for the unexpected connections that make each dinner unique.
Which preferences can I choose?
You can review or update the following details:
Event language
You can choose the language you would like to use during your event. Check that this is correct prior to confirming your booking, especially in a multilingual city.
Gender mix
You cannot choose the gender composition of your table. We aim to create a balanced mix where possible, but the final group depends on who books, confirms or cancels for that dinner.
How does age grouping work?
Your age band helps guide the matching process, but age is only one part of the match. We also consider your compatibility and the people available for the same dinner.
This means a table may include people from neighbouring age bands. In some cases, the overall event may span a much wider age range than your individual table.
Why might my table have a wider age range?
The available group can change as people book or cancel. To avoid leaving participants without a table, the matching system may create a broader age mix while still considering overall compatibility.
The final mix can be affected by:
- The number of people attending in your city
- Who selected the same date and dinner language
- Late bookings or cancellations
- The need to create complete, engaging tables
A broader mix does not necessarily mean your preference was ignored. It means the algorithm balanced it with the other information and bookings available for that dinner.
What can’t I request?
You cannot select:
- The exact ages of the other guests
- A specific gender ratio
- Particular professions, backgrounds or personality types
Timeleft is open to people of different ages, genders and backgrounds, so every event may bring together a varied group.
What should I do if my match felt wrong?
We understand that a table can feel disappointing when the group is very different from what you expected.

- The date and city of your dinner
- Which preference appeared incorrect
- What you had selected in your profile
