To ensure that Timeleft experiences remain enjoyable for guests and sustainable for our restaurant and venue partners, we ask all participants to follow a few simple purchase expectations during their event.
Timeleft collaborates closely with restaurants that reserve tables specifically for our events. Ordering appropriately helps maintain strong relationships with these partners and ensures we can continue offering high-quality venues in every city.
🚨 When Timeleft participants do not purchase food or drinks, venues ultimately request to no longer host events. To ensure we can continue to partner with the best venues, please make a purchase. We do not pay venues any fees, so they only make what you spend 🤗
This is why we have started offering events with lower purchase expectations to fit to meet the needs of participants. If you only have Dinners available in your event, keep an eye out for new event types as we are adding more to different cities each month.
What We Ask Timeleft Participants to Order by Event Type
At different event types, we ask you to make a minimum purchase based on the nature of the event. This also closely connects with how we match budget preferences. If you find the cost of the menu items exceeds your personal budget requirements, please contact support, and we will check for other venue options.
We know that many people have very reasonable budget constraints or sometimes a venue's menu isn't aligned to your tastes. If this is your situation, please contact customer support to see if there is another option.
Ordering At Dinner Events
At dinners, we ask that each participant order a main course and drink (or a smaller dish around the same price).
We certainly do not request that you order an alcoholic drink, unless so inclined and meeting the required drinking age in your country, but a bottle of water or a non-alcoholic beverage is ideal.
Ordering At Coffee or Drinks Events
We encourage each participant to order one drink per hour. If your assigned venue offers small plates and you decide to order a snack, the need to order another drink is reduced.
This can include:
- Alcoholic drinks
- Non-alcoholic beverages
- Mocktails, juice, soda, or other options are available at the venue
The goal is simply to be supportive of the establishment hosting the group. Coffee shops and bars are hesitant to host groups that do not order similar amounts compared to their other customers. To ensure we can continue to partner with the highest quality locations, we ask to just be mindful 🤗
Why These Expectations Matter
Timeleft events rely on strong partnerships with restaurants and venues across every city. Veunes do not pay us, and we do not pay them to work together, to ensure we are always free to make decisions about what is best for Timeleft customers. When groups order food and/or drinks, it creates a mutually beneficial relationship:
- High-quality venues are happy to continue to host Timeleft groups again in the future, as the amount you spend is all the venues make from Timeleft events
- We maintain a variety of great venues that provide Timeleft tables with the best level of service
- Guests continue to enjoy high-quality dining experiences
We do not encourage excessive drinking of alcoholic beverages. The focus is on being respectful and mindful of the business you’re visiting.
A Balanced Approach
We want events to feel relaxed, social, and comfortable for everyone. At the same time, being thoughtful about ordering supports the restaurants and venues that make these experiences possible.
Most restaurants, cafes, and bars have very high operational costs, so we ask you to participate as a cutomer to that establishment.
However, we also value your comfort and needs, so never feel pressured to purchase more than what is reasonable for yourself by staff or other participants.
We do suggest bringing cash if your event is in a city known to commonly discourage bill splitting to increase your comfort level.
By following these expectations, you help ensure that Timeleft dinners remain welcoming, sustainable, and enjoyable for all.
